Dyneema is the brand name for ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibre, developed by DSM. Ropes made from Dyneema fibre are extraordinarily strong — up to 15 times stronger than steel on a weight-for-weight basis — while remaining lightweight enough to float on water. They are UV-resistant, chemically resistant, non-corrosive, non-conducting, and non-sparking.
